HUNK-in-the-making: Carlo Guevarra

 

18 year old CARLO GUEVARRA from Pasay won the first Be Bench model and won the hearts of million as he was proclaimed victorious by the countries top apparel – BENCH.

Honestly, i dont know anything about the contest.  I didnt even bothered to watch it when it was simulcast in local TV.  I felt its just a bunch ‘wanna be models’ who doesnt know anything about modelling – all i know is that they needed exposure and they want to be famous.  Though they have the looks and the body to flaunt, nothing beats professional models that i truly adore which includes Akihiro Sato and Brent Javier.  (plus im not interested with girl models hehehe)

When im watching Desperadas 2, then i came across this young fellow which i felt he has the guts to introduce thyself in the local public eye via a ‘ slightly gay-themed film’.  He was introduced as the the romantic opposite of  ‘Lugaluda’ played by Ogie Alcasid. 

From there, with his staggering looks and a body that i envy, i immediately gather all efforts to bring forth and feature – CARLO GUEVARRA. 

Though cyberspace has so little to say about this young HUNK-in-the-making, CARLO GUEVARRA were once rumored to be gay or a bit effeminate.  I felt its just the handywork of the films’ PR to gain enough publicity for the film.  So let us just dismiss that rumor.

What you may find inspiring about Carlo Guevarra is his ability to transform himself from a chubby young kid to a young hot hunk.  i for one were inspired by such effort, courage and stamina.  I bet i could do what he can do.  i hope you will be the inspiration for everyone. Go Carlo Go!!!!

how could you ever forget his boy-next-door looks and ‘almost’ innocent smile?  His mysterious gaze and silence has earned him ’starmometer’ points amongst girls, ladies, matrons and gays alike. 

 

Brent Javier skyrocketed its modeling career when he landed the top plum at the 2003 Mossimo Bikini Summit and MTV Best Model of the World Philippines – Manhunt Winner. One of the country’s in demand model for 2003 as he threads each catwalk every week and landed himself on several product endorsements including Addict Mobile, Bench Body, Mossimo and Ponds.

 

How could i ever forget the ‘Mystery Guy contest’ by Ponds?  I almost bought two dozens of Ponds products just to get a chance to have a date with Brent Javier.  Well, lady luck were not on my side by that time BUT what ive heard, there is one gay guy who have had a chance to be one of the 10 lucky patrons who get to meet Javier.  Hmp….lucky.

 

My friend who used to work as marketing honcho in one of the largest beauty stores has even created an ad campaign for the month of February in 2003 or 2004 featuring Javier as the top model.  I even asked and begged her to snatch a signed poster for me…(hmmmm what happen with that poster….i almost forgot).  Currently, the last stint i have known about him is the MTV VJ search and his debut appearnace in Regal films ‘Loving You’ wherein he played the boss of a locall teen satr named Yasmien Kurdi.

 

But behind the fuss, this Fil-Canadian born model who has initially came to the Philippines ‘just’ to play basketball is rumored to be ‘gay’.  From his ICON MAGAZINE feature, he was described as ‘like a superhero with a secret identity, there is a certain mystery about him.  Some say he’s a typical straight guy, reserved and timid.  Some swear that its his way of concealing his real sexuality.’

 Do people mistake you for being gay?

“Yeah. It gets annoying but I’ve realized it happens when I am here. If they have nothing else to say about you, they’ll just make up something. I guess it’s part of being, sort of a celebrity. I don’t think I am (a celebrity) but I guess some people consider me as one. I guess it’s part of the game. I like women only.”

Just look on the brighter side… the  ‘gay’ rumor often comes out if the celebrity is too succesful.  meaning… Javier is too famous thats why this rumors comes out from their shelves. there you go…

‘theres a boy i know, and his the one im dreaming of…’

its a song from the 80′s that i could finally use to descirbe a boy whom we all knew as DINGDONG DANTES.   Yup, one remarkable actor who have waited for the right time till his stars shines brighter!  Born as Jose Sixto Gonzales Dantes III, is an award-nominated director/actor, born August 2, 1980 who rarely answers issues and controversies who remains to be too private as a celebrity.  A man of few words, i should say and let his work speak for himself.  Currently, he is one of the most popular & highest paid actors in the Philippines, and is also one of the highest paid underwear model in the country.

Dingdong started as a KFC model in the 90′s and a part of Abztract Dancers.  Their group became a regular of local TV shows including the longest running lunch show EAT BULAGA and talent program THATS ENTERTAINMENT. He once then a part of another local network IBC 13 before he transferred to his current mother ship GMA 7.  As an actor, he debuted on GMA netwroks highly popular youth-oriented flick T.G.I.S. (Thank God It’s Sabado) credited himself as Raphael Dantes when he was seventeen. His role as the dashing boy-next-door Iñaki was massively well received and contributed much to his growing popularity. Almost immediately, Dantes was already a growing sensation. His pairing with Antoinette Taus, whom he was romantically involved with, spun films like Honey My Love So Sweet and I’m Sorry My Love and other television outings including Anna Karenina. E!: DINGDONG DANTES hinirang na ‘sexiest men in the WORLD’

 

Dindong looks beyond the islands

 

Dingdong Dantes was chosen by E! Entertainment as one of the ’25 Sexiest Men of the World’.   Reportedly, he joins the ranks of hunky actors, models, and sportsmen, including soccer player David Beckham.

Accoding to the said post, “Charlene Sakoda, the executive producer of E! Entertainment Television in Los Angeles, California has been exchanging notes and calls to the manager of one of the hottest popular actors in the Philippines today—Dingdong Dantes. E! Entertainment is one of the largest and most popular networks in Hollywood and the most subscribed network around the world, which is available to 88 million subscribers in the U.S. and 600 million homes internationally.”

E! Entertainment decided to have Dingdong as the only Filipino celebrity to be included on their list. He will be featured in one of the special segments of E! through an interview.  Although E! also eyed another Filipino talent, the network people all rooted for Dingdong. The final choice came from the president of E! Entertainment, who personally chose Dingdong on the list.

Part of the letter stated: “I can assure you that we are only looking to glorify Dingdong Dantes and will only mention him and your footage in a positive light. The show is scheduled to air in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2008. We do not have a more specific time frame as of yet.”

i bet a lot of women and gays are screaming madly once they watched the said advertisement, time and time again.  they are the object of OUR affection and PRINCE of our day dreams by that time hahahahahaha.  after the said hiatus, he have been a part of several commercials including Sarsi,  Colgate, Wanwan Biscuits, Citibank, Jollibee  and Neozep.  He is also a part of now-defunct boyband called ‘Powerboys’ – the same cast who debuted in the highly succesful deodorant ad.

Pansamantala siyang nawala sa limelight and according to Phil. Entertainment Portal, he mentioned that he tried his luck in Thailand for two years.  Though he didnt reached the same popularity he have had here in the Philippines, he went back para ituloy ang kanyang naudlot na career.  One of his comeback films is ‘My Kuya’s Wedding’ under local film outfit – Regal.

What i like about Frank is how he handles gay questions in every Press junctions.  isa na nga sa kanyang mga sagot regarding ‘taboo sa usapang gay’ – di niya ikinakaila na marami na siyang naging kaibigang gay since ng pumasok siya sa showbusiness at a very early age of 17 and masasabi niya na SILA ay tunay na tao.

known as ‘Pubic Hair King’ or Mr. 8 pulgada (8incher), ANTON BERNARDO truly dominates the early 90’s titilating films.  this gorgeous hunk is said to be one of the bravest newcomers during that time as he flaunts his ‘pubic hair’ on its first pictorial – without hesitation. well, with an 8incher and a sumptous body to die-for…all i could say is…WHY NOT?

what i like about Anton, based from his TV guestings and how he answered each question of showbiz reporter – it seems he is a man of few words, silent kung baga and honest and he was never ashamed of his job.  i think his dignity over work is one of the commendable attitude he got.
