#MyHusbandsLover: the final week

It is the final week for “My Husbands Lover”. And I bet the whole gay community are awaiting the conclusion of the great love triangle between Vincent, Lally and Eric.

Who would have thought that a gay-themed soap opera would finally see a day when it will be telecast on a Philippine television wherein Roman Catholic remains the primary religion in a local setting?  The country aside from Vatican has remained strong with its core family values and has yet to acknowledge divorce as a “law”.  Never in a million years that I would have imagined two guys as main character and lovely young lady as the third wheel.  So kudos to its writer/developer Suzette Doctolero and the master director himself Dominic Zapata who brings in to life the saga of three intertwined souls from the web of deceit, love, machismo, society and sexual orientation.

The soap wont be successful as it is without its stellar cast spearheaded by Ms Carla Abellana (as Lally), Dennis Trillo (as Eric) and the phenomenal star Tom Rodriguez (as Vincent) who found new success with its new network (GMA 7).

So again, congratulations to the makers of “My Husbands Lover”.

piggy back ride with “boyfie”

its what we call piggy back ride.

Normally, we see this between a father and his son while having fun at the park or in a pool.  Often, straight men and women does this occasionally while strolling on their favorite avenue where they first met.  At times, we see a guy carrying a girl on his back during rainy days especially if she does not want her new prada shoes to be ruined by the flood.  In Korea and Thailand, the most romantic scenes are often portrayed during the ‘piggy back’ sequence.  I bet you remember this scenes:

Hit Korea-novela Kim SamSoon
a scene from “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” starring Mario Maurer

but how about a guy carrying another guy on his back.

a guy from work posted a picture on his FB and he tagged it “Boyfie”.

and they say they are just “friends” – as in GOOD FRIENDS

Im smelling something “fishy”

yeah they are friends, like the guys i posted below:

ECO-friendly santacruzan ng mga BEKI

The things you can do with a piece of trash!  Just take a colorful idea, creative hands and a whip of my fairy dust!!!

The account that i’m working with often posted challenges amongst peers.  Just to spice things up from the monotonous and often stressful life of a call center agent.  For this challenge, our main task is to create a beautiful gown made out from trash / indigenous or recyclable materials.  Just like “PROJECT RUNWAY and PROJECT ACCESSORIES”  all rolled into one … but with a Filipino twist.  The main theme is Flores de Mayo so expect the most elaborate pieces from this side of town.  Its one successful event that my friend Chaz Zenith has created.  Everyone participated and adored the fabulous masterpieces. I just hoped that there will be another event like this.

I posted below some of my friends creations… of course ang na-post ko lang ay yung mga beki since my blog is solely dedicated for LGBT.  Find out who i am amongst the featured ‘sagalas’… scroll down girl.

the #TOMDEN phenomena

TV series na ‘My Husbands Lover’

GMA7’s ‘My Husbands Lover’ sets the mark

I simply can’t get enough!!!

The newest gay-themed soap opera in the Philippines from GMA7 has been slamming network rating war against its biggest rival ABS CBN.    The rival network has mastered heavy drama soaps which tickles love fantasy between the rich and poor while GMA7 may have engineered the fantaserye and korea-novela phenomenon that up until this time has been emulated by other networks but has never surpassed.  GMA7 also had suffered long-time lull from the rating game since its core creative team and its artist were ‘pirated’ by two giant networks – namely ABS CBN and TV5.  Though the latter network may have spent millions from their current talents, but it failed to bring in the much needed ratings and advertisement pull.   No one thought that GMA7 has the guts to produce such show with its family-oriented theme that is evident in every soap they created.

Tagged by GMA7’s marketing and publicity department “Ang pinakamapangahas na teleserye ng taon”.  True to its by-line, the soap stirred local aficionados curiosity and rocks CBCP’s sensibility to the topic.  There was a time that I thought that it won’t even last for a month as the church demanded its pull-out from the mainstream media.  The local governing agency MTRCB has been democratic enough to hear both sides of the story.  The soap has been in ‘hot-seat’ since its inception cutting scenes after scenes which they viewed to be ‘indiscreet’.

But after a month of airing and thousands of tweets from its fans, the soap emerges triumphant.  Its three main actors: Carla Abellana, Tom Rodriguez and Dennis Trillo found new fame with this new dramatic vehicle.  Raves and reviews from fans and critics flooded the cyber world.  Its supporting cast led by Glydel Mercado, Kuh Ledesma, Chanda Romero, Roi Vinzon, Karel Marquez, Kevin Santos, Victor Basa and the list goes on were also added to the mix. Truly an inspiring masterpiece from Direk  Dominic Zapata and head writer Suzette Doctolero.  Not to mention a string a creative writers including Marlon Miguel, Geng Delgado, Jason Lim, Jonathan Cruz and Michelle Amog.  Splendid cinematography by Roman Theodossis.

I just hoped that this opus from GMA7 is the start of new and inspiring telenovelas and it reemergence from its long sleepover.  I just hope as well that the marketing team of GMA7 would somehow use this vehicle to create new and exciting products including music and merchandize.  I just don’t know what GMA record has been doing so far with such hug clamor over MHL’s mall show.  Why did they not come up with a compilation of sorts dedicated for MHL?  I know Carla Bellona is a non-singer but there are a lot of songs under their catalogue which are 100% owned by the recording company.   It may not be aired during the soaps telecast but at least recurring theme about love, letting and betrayal will be a great marketing tool.  Hooray to GMA films as they are already conceptualizing a film solely based to the three main characters of the soap.  I just hoped that they come up with the right idea while they are still airing MHL.  It may not be the same plot but the lobbying on the same theme.  Why not a HORROR / SUSPENSE THRILLER for Dennis, Tom and Carla?

Anyway I’m just happy for GMA7’s success as I have been a huge fan of the network.  May ebidensiya naman sa lahat ng post ko di ba….

eerie love story

i know Halloween is over but i just happen to discover this long overdue text message that i have kept through the years…i found it eeerie and romantic….

BF and BOY story

BF: iiyak ka ba pag nawala ako? (will you cry if im gone?)

BOY: hindi (nope)

BF: talaga (sure?)

BOY: OO! (yup)

After three days the BF died in a vehicular accident.  The boy was shocked but he never shed a tear.  He did not cried even after kissing his BF when they open the coffin and finally bade goodbye.  Not a single word was heard from BOY and he kept that little red rose he found at his BF’s funeral.

After one day the boy committed suicide with a note saying ‘bakit kita iiyakan kung pwede naman kitang sundan…”  (why do i need to cry if i can follow you after life)

He is holding the little red rose on his right hand while clutching the little note on his left hand near his heart.

I tried to update my blog sa kahit anong paraan alam ko… kaya lang kalaban ko talaga ang katamaran at kalandian.  Minsan kasi walang time kaya sana, yung ibang tagapagtangkilik ko (naks…sarap naman pakingan) which includes my gay hag, my auntie and my pet dog Brunoay  – patawarin nyu sana ang inyong abang lingkod.
